PUBG Mobile vs PUBG: Battlegrounds
The two games are run separately and their name rules differ. PUBG: Battlegrounds publishes its rules: 4 to 16 characters, upper and lowercase letters, numbers, hyphens and underscores only, and the name cannot start with a hyphen or underscore. That rules out symbols, spaces and accented letters entirely.
PUBG Mobile publishes only how to rename, not what a name may contain. Players report that many Unicode symbols work, while others are refused with an invalid character error, so try a name before you spend a Rename Card on it.
What the Rename Card costs
Your first Rename Card is free from the Level 10 Growth Mission. Bought cards are priced in UC in the Cards tab of the shop; guides quote different prices over the years, so check the shop for the current one.
Can you have an invisible PUBG name?
Not documented
No PUBG source documents a blank name, and we found no reliable report of the usual blank characters (Hangul filler, braille blank) working in PUBG Mobile. How to change your PUBG Mobile name
- Get a Rename Card: your first one comes free from the Level 10 Growth Mission, more come from later Growth Missions, and they are sold in Shop → Cards.
- Open your Inventory and use the Rename Card.
- Type the new name and confirm. You can rename at most once per day.
On PUBG: Battlegrounds (PC) you need a nickname change card from the Steam store or the in-game store. Your old name is held for you for 7 days, then anyone can take it.
