About Hungarian letters

Hungarian uses the acute for long vowels, the umlaut for ö and ü, and the double acute for their long versions ő and ű.

The Hungarian layout has all nine accented vowels as dedicated keys along the right side and number row.

ő and ű have no Alt code under 256; in Word type 0151 or 0171 then Alt+X.

How to switch your keyboard to Hungarian

Windows

Open Settings → Time & Language → Language & region, add Hungarian (or open the options for your language and add the Hungarian keyboard). Switch layouts with Win+Space. The current layout is shown next to the clock.

Mac

Open System Settings → Keyboard → Input Sources → Edit, click +, and add Hungarian. Switch with Control+Space or from the input menu in the menu bar. Turn on Show Input menu in menu bar to see which layout is active.

iPhone and iPad

Open Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards → Add New Keyboard and choose Hungarian. Switch by holding the globe key on the keyboard.

Android

In Gboard, open Settings → Languages → Add keyboard and choose Hungarian. Switch by holding the space bar or tapping the globe key.
