How dotted text works
This style does not replace your letters. After each character it inserts a combining mark from the Combining Diacritical Marks block (U+0323). Combining marks are designed to sit on top of, through or under the preceding character, which is how accents like é are built. Stacking the right mark on every letter produces the effect.
Coverage for this style: Everything. Anything outside that range passes through unchanged.
Where dotted works

Is this a real font? +
No. It adds a combining mark (U+0323) after each character, which draws the effect over the letter. The letters themselves stay the same, so the text remains searchable.

This style covers Everything. Characters outside that set have no styled equivalent in Unicode and are left as they are.
Will dotted work in my Instagram or TikTok username? +
Not in the @username, which only allows letters, numbers, periods and underscores. It works in your display name, bio and captions.
Can screen readers read dotted? +
Mostly, since the underlying letters are unchanged, though the added marks may be announced. Keep it short.
